Gridd sheers: a world of layered colour

Gridd sheer curtain fabric in layered green and blue tones, dividing an open-plan interior into separate zones.

Open-plan spaces can feel visually overwhelming – and sheer curtains offer a way to divide them without walls. At windows, sheer curtains have long regulated natural light, offered privacy and softened the world outside.

Those same qualities make them well suited to dividing open-plan interiors, from restaurants and hotels to workplaces and exhibition spaces. Acting as a filter, they soften what’s seen without blocking it – permeable architecture that zones a space, creates intimacy and lets light flow through.

Gridd by name and nature

Crafted from 60% recycled post-consumer content, Gridd is a sheer curtain fabric named for its structure. Woven from super-fine yarn into a close, even grid, the polyester FR fabric has a subtle graphic quality. The combination of high translucency and colour makes it feel like a diffusing filter in a space – as if an image has been tinted – while still holding its own distinct presence.

Mix-and-match palette

Gridd’s extensive 32-colour palette includes bold, statement-making options that turn sheers into an integral part of a colour scheme. Tonal variety within each grouping – from mint to forest green, nude pink to terracotta, or indigo to sky blue – supports layered monochrome looks, while the freshness of each shade means contrasting tones feel harmonious. A range of neutrals – from black to white and in between – completes the palette. Some colourways are multi-tonal, a detail revealed only upon closer inspection.

Layered looks

Gridd adds an extra element of creativity and playfulness to sheer curtain fabrics. Layering different shades creates shifting areas of translucency and opacity, each combination bringing its own mood. Rather than dividing a room with walls, designers can shape it with colour – fluidly layering hues throughout a space. And unlike static spatial dividers, Gridd moves, its character shifting as it interacts with light throughout the day.

Softness meets strength

Produced, woven and finished in Vescom’s 100% owned weaving mill in Germany, Gridd fulfils all the high-performance demands of the contract market: flame retardancy, colourfastness and durability. With a soft hand, it falls naturally into place and can span from floor to ceiling thanks to its suitability for railroaded installation. Despite its softness, the strong weave holds firm at every seam, meaning the fabric won’t lose its shape – even with constant opening and closing.

A world of colour

Gridd brings the same idea of colour to sheer curtain fabrics that Colour Connect brings to upholstery and Colour Choice brings to vinyl wallcovering. Together, the three mean colour can be considered at any – or every – layer of a space.
